A real-time strategy game that runs in a browser tab
Most things filed under "browser RTS" are either a tick-based empire sim that emails you in six hours, or a card game wearing an RTS coat. Nexas Code 2D is a real one: you select ships, you give them orders, they move and shoot while you watch, and if you look away the fight carries on without you.

The test is whether your hands are doing anything. Here they are.
- Box selection. Drag a rectangle across empty space and everything of yours inside it is selected, with a live count. Shift adds to the selection.
- Right-click orders. Right-click a planet to send the fleet, right-click empty space for a waypoint, right-click an enemy to attack it. Shift queues the order behind the ones already given.
- Select All, and it means all. Ctrl+A takes every ship you own anywhere in the galaxy. There are also View, System and All buttons for the same thing without a keyboard.
- A fleet stance toggle that cycles off, hunt-everything, and sweep-mines-only, so a fleet you sent somewhere can be told what to do when it gets there.
The zoom is the map
There is no minimap, because there is no second view to need one. The camera is one continuous scale: pull back and you are reading a galaxy of star systems and the lanes between them; push in and a system unfolds into planets and the ships fighting over them; keep going and you drop onto the planet surface itself.
It means the strategic and the tactical view are the same view, and positioning a fleet near a jump gate is something you do by looking at it rather than by opening a screen.
Where it runs
Any modern browser with WebGL — Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android or iOS. Landscape only on phones.
On a phone or tablet the same orders work by touch: tap to select, tap a planet to order, drag to pan, pinch to zoom, and press-and-hold for a move order. More about playing on mobile.
Galaxy to ground, one continuous zoom
Scroll out and you are reading a galaxy map. Scroll in and it unfolds into a single star system. Keep going and you are standing on the planet, watching a real-time ground battle for the bunker. No loading screens between the three.
A 4X match that fits in a coffee break
You take your first world in under a minute. The research ladder, doctrine drafting and planet specialisation are all there — they just resolve in the time a grand-strategy game spends on its tutorial.
Up to 30 commanders on one map
Solo matches run at 4, 8, 16 or 30 commanders against bots. Multiplayer is a live 30-player free-for-all with private lobbies if you would rather bring your own.
Runs in the tab you already have open
No installer, no launcher, no account required to play. It is a WebGL build that starts on a laptop, a Chromebook or a phone held sideways.

- It runs in any modern browser with WebGL and needs no admin rights, so a managed Chromebook or locked-down laptop will usually run it. Whether your network allows the domain is a separate question we cannot answer for you.
