Nexas Code 2D

Up to 30 commanders, live

Bring friends, or fight twenty-nine strangers

Multiplayer here is not a tick-based empire sim that resolves overnight. It is thirty commanders on one map at the same time, in real time, finishing in one sitting. You can queue into a public free-for-all or open a private lobby and send the link to four friends.

Two ways in

What "free-for-all" actually means here

Thirty players with no alliance mechanic sounds like chaos, and early on it is. What organises it is geography: you can only fight what you can reach, so the map turns into a set of local wars that slowly merge as empires grow into each other.

The practical consequence is that the winner is usually whoever picked the right neighbour to hit first, not whoever had the biggest fleet at minute five.

Playing solo against bots instead

If you would rather not deal with people, the same map sizes run offline against bots at 4, 8, 16 or 30 commanders. Solo matches run entirely in your browser. Multiplayer needs a connection.

Galaxy to ground, one continuous zoom

Scroll out and you are reading a galaxy map. Scroll in and it unfolds into a single star system. Keep going and you are standing on the planet, watching a real-time ground battle for the bunker. No loading screens between the three.

A 4X match that fits in a coffee break

You take your first world in under a minute. The research ladder, doctrine drafting and planet specialisation are all there — they just resolve in the time a grand-strategy game spends on its tutorial.

Up to 30 commanders on one map

Solo matches run at 4, 8, 16 or 30 commanders against bots. Multiplayer is a live 30-player free-for-all with private lobbies if you would rather bring your own.

Runs in the tab you already have open

No installer, no launcher, no account required to play. It is a WebGL build that starts on a laptop, a Chromebook or a phone held sideways.

Questions people actually ask

Can I play this with friends?
Yes. Open a private lobby, press Invite Friends and send the link — anyone who opens it joins your match. You can fill the remaining commander slots with bots so a small group can still play a large map.
Do I need an account to play multiplayer?
You can start playing without one. Signing in is what lets progress, achievements and cosmetic skins follow you between devices.
How many people can be in one match?
Thirty commanders, live, on one map. Solo matches against bots run at 4, 8, 16 or 30.
Is it pay-to-win?
No. Nothing purchasable changes empire power — only cosmetic skins and achievements persist between matches. Everyone starts a match with corvettes and researches up from there.
