Nexas Code 2D

Nothing to install

No installer, no launcher, no account — just the page

Nexas Code 2D is a WebGL build. Opening the page is the installation. There is no launcher to sign into, no client to patch, no admin password to type, and nothing left on your disk when you close the tab.

Play free in your browser No download, no installer, no account needed to start a match.

What it needs

Any modern browser with WebGL — Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android or iOS. Landscape only on phones.

No plugins. Flash and Unity Web Player have both been dead for years; this is plain WebGL, which every browser on that list has shipped for over a decade.

Machines it is specifically built to run on

MachineNotes
ChromebookWorks. There is nothing to install and no admin rights required, which is usually the blocker on a managed device.
Old or low-end laptopThe renderer scales down. A large map with thirty commanders asks more of a machine than a four-commander one, so start small if yours is struggling.
MacSafari, Chrome or Firefox. No separate Mac build to wait for, because there is no build.
LinuxSame. It is a web page.
Phone or tabletLandscape only, with full touch controls. More about mobile.

The one honest caveat

The first load pulls down real artwork, so it is not instant on a slow connection — it is a game, not a text page. Once it is cached, coming back is fast.

Galaxy to ground, one continuous zoom

Scroll out and you are reading a galaxy map. Scroll in and it unfolds into a single star system. Keep going and you are standing on the planet, watching a real-time ground battle for the bunker. No loading screens between the three.

A 4X match that fits in a coffee break

You take your first world in under a minute. The research ladder, doctrine drafting and planet specialisation are all there — they just resolve in the time a grand-strategy game spends on its tutorial.

Up to 30 commanders on one map

Solo matches run at 4, 8, 16 or 30 commanders against bots. Multiplayer is a live 30-player free-for-all with private lobbies if you would rather bring your own.

Runs in the tab you already have open

No installer, no launcher, no account required to play. It is a WebGL build that starts on a laptop, a Chromebook or a phone held sideways.

Questions people actually ask

Do I need to download anything to play?
No. Nothing to install. It is a web page. Open the page and the game starts.
Will it run on a Chromebook?
Yes. It runs entirely in the browser with no install and no admin rights, which is exactly what a managed Chromebook allows.
Does it work offline?
Solo matches run entirely in your browser. Multiplayer needs a connection.
Do I need an account?
Not to play. Signing in only matters if you want progress, achievements and cosmetic skins to follow you to another device.
